About this show

WHAT: The only queer comedy open mic in town! Every month, we give as much stage time to as many LGBTQ+ comics as we can, including one amazing booked feature comic. WHERE: The Swan Dive is downtown at 615 Red River St, Austin, TX 78701 WHEN: FIRST THURSDAY of every month at 8 pm. Doors open at 7:30. COST: Free for over 21, $5 if under 21. The venue is letting under 21 into this event, because if there's a young gay comic prodigy out there, we want you to come and be loved and supported here! WHO: Queer folks with jokes!! If you're a straight ally, come and enjoy, but leave the stage time for queer comics, please. WHY: You are hilarious, and you deserve a homophobia/transphobia/misogyny-free room to come and SHINE. Hosts Ivy and Aira promise to regulate any and all cishet-haterade, and we werk every month to bring you the greatest, gayest crowd to try your material on. MIC RULES DON'T SIGN UP JUST TO HOLD - Things happen, but please communicate if a cancellation comes up so more queer comics can get stage time. Don't sign up to hold your spot if you're not sure you can go. If you no-show, your future signups will be canceled. QUEER COMICS ONLY - If you're a straight ally, come and enjoy, but leave the stage time for queer comics, please. BE ON TIME & CHECK-IN - Please arrive before the mic starts and check in with the hosts! If we don't know you're there, we might give away your time to the overflow list. You are also encouraged to stay for the entire mic if possible to support each other (only 90min). STICK TO YOUR TIME - Multiple set lengths available, but please stick to the time you chose. Feel free to give time back to the room, but don't run the light! This venue often has a show that needs to set up after ours. We'll light you when you have 1 minute left.
