Privacy Policy

Comedy Austin is operated by Quiet Kitty, located at 350 Forest Ave Suite 16, Laguna Beach, CA 92652.

Information we collect

When you subscribe, we collect your email address, the signup location on the site, the time you consented, and whether you selected the general comedy list or the performer-focused open mic list. We also keep a minimized record of your cookie choice, including a random consent identifier, category settings, Global Privacy Control status, policy version, and server time. We do not store your page path, referrer, IP address, full browser identifier, email address, or form content in a consent receipt.

If you enable Analytics, we collect first-party page views, limited campaign attribution, and outbound link clicks. Analytics records may include a random browser-session identifier, page path and title, referring domain, external destination domain and path without its query string or fragment, link label and placement, related event or venue identifier, and client and server times. We do not write search terms, IP addresses, destination query strings, or full browser fingerprints to the analytics event table.

Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser type, request logs, and security signals. Event and venue artwork may be served by the publisher or venue that supplied it and can expose ordinary connection information when displayed.

How we use information

We use information to operate the calendar and email list, fulfill requests, secure the service, remember privacy choices, understand aggregate site performance, measure which listings and external destinations are useful, attribute campaigns, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

You may unsubscribe from future newsletters using the link in any email or by contacting legal@lagunafoundry.com.

Service providers

We use OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare for hosting, database storage, security, and edge or Worker request analytics that do not require a browser tracker. Optional browser analytics are collected by Comedy Austin through its own script, endpoint, and database rather than a separate browser analytics provider. Google Maps and YouTube are optional Functional providers and do not load until you enable that category and request the relevant map or video. Email delivery providers may process subscriber data when newsletters launch.

Google Maps

If you enable Functional technologies and open a map, Google may receive technical data and map interactions under Google's terms. The calendar, listings, venue addresses, fonts, editorial media, search, and subscription forms remain available without Google Maps.

YouTube previews

Comedy Austin displays lightweight video cards without contacting YouTube. If you enable Functional technologies and press play, the site creates a privacy-enhanced YouTube player. YouTube and Google may then receive ordinary technical data, player interactions, and viewing information, and may show non-personalized ads. You can use the separate “Watch on YouTube” link instead; that navigation is governed by YouTube's policies.

Cookies, analytics, and Global Privacy Control

The host-only lf_consent cookie remembers your choices for 180 days. Optional Functional, Analytics, and Marketing technologies are off until you select them. If Analytics is enabled, a random identifier and initial campaign attribution may be kept in session storage until the browser session ends or you withdraw consent. Cloudflare's necessary security systems and edge or Worker request analytics may operate without optional-cookie consent. Global Privacy Control keeps Marketing and sale or sharing technologies off. Retention and security

We retain subscriber records while a subscription remains active and as needed for compliance or suppression requests. Consent receipts are pruned after 24 months, and first-party analytics events are pruned after 13 months. Security and operational logs follow provider retention settings and legal requirements. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

California privacy rights

California residents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of covered personal information, and may ask about categories collected, sources, purposes, and disclosures. You may also opt out of any future sale or sharing and will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising a privacy right. We may need to verify a request before acting.
