Comedy Austin venue guide
About The Hideout Theatre
The Hideout Theatre has taught and presented improvisational theater since 1999. Its programming spans short-form games, character-driven long form, narrative improv, student showcases, and family performances. The theater now operates from its North Lamar annex, where its school and stage continue a particularly important strand of Austin's improv history.
What to expect
Expect the experience to reflect the room itself. The audience is usually close to the stage, making timing, crowd energy, and the personality of the host especially important. The published age guidance is all ages, and the venue is currently associated with improv and variety. Current calendar listings include Glitter Witch, PGraph, and Y’Honor Presents. Lineups and schedules can change; confirm the selected date, tickets, and admission details with the venue or producer.
